At Kalkoup Community Care, we are always looking for opportunities that strengthen the knowledge and skills of the people who provide support to individuals living with disability. We are pleased to share that the NDIS Commission has launched free online Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training, available until July 2027.
This training is an excellent opportunity for disability support workers who wish to deepen their professional practice and for parents or carers who would like to expand their understanding of evidence-based approaches to behaviour support.
Course topics appear to include based off of our research:
Positive Behaviour Support – practical strategies to promote quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern
Human Rights and Zero Tolerance – embedding respect, dignity, and safety in every aspect of care
Trauma-Informed Support – building awareness of the impact of trauma and delivering care that is safe and supportive
The courses are online, self-paced, and include a certificate of completion. With limited places available, we encourage support workers, families, and carers to register early.
This initiative reflects a strong commitment to upholding the values of dignity, respect, and inclusion within the disability sector. It provides practical tools and frameworks that can be immediately applied in everyday care and support.
